Refund & Cancellation Policy
Refund & Cancellation Policy
We believe customers should know exactly where they stand before committing to a website project. This policy explains how cancellations, refunds and service concerns are handled at Pixalit.
Effective date: 2 November 2026
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to Pixalit website projects and Pixalit Managed subscriptions, subject to any individually agreed terms and applicable law. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, of which it forms part.
2. Free previews
Website previews are provided without charge and without any obligation to buy. If you decide not to proceed, you owe nothing for the free preview.
An unpaid preview remains subject to the intellectual property provisions in our Terms & Conditions.
3. Business customer cancellations before development starts
For genuine business contracts, there is generally no automatic statutory consumer cooling-off period.
If a business customer cancels before paid development begins, Pixalit will ordinarily refund the amount paid, less any reasonable, properly disclosed and legally recoverable costs or commitments already incurred. There is no fixed cancellation fee.
4. Business customer cancellations after development starts
If a business customer cancels after paid development has begun, Pixalit will take into account:
- the work already completed;
- the agreed project scope and price;
- reasonable and documented costs already incurred;
- unavoidable third-party commitments;
- any relevant individual cancellation agreement;
- whether Pixalit has fulfilled its contractual obligations; and
- amounts recoverable under applicable law.
Any refund will reflect the applicable contractual and legal position. Pixalit will not impose disproportionate charges, will not automatically keep the entire payment, and will not charge twice for the same loss.
Where a project is cancelled after it has been substantially completed, there may be little or nothing left to refund, where the contract and applicable law permit.
5. Completed and delivered business projects
Where Pixalit has satisfactorily completed and delivered the agreed website project, a business customer is not automatically entitled to a refund solely because of a change of mind.
This does not remove any remedies for defective, incomplete or materially non-conforming work, misrepresentation or any other legal entitlement.
6. Problems with delivered work
If your delivered website does not meet the agreed scope or applicable legal standards, please contact Pixalit with details of the issue. We will assess the concern and seek to correct legitimate defects or omissions within a reasonable time.
Where correction is not possible, is unsuccessful, or another remedy is legally required, Pixalit will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include a price reduction or a refund.
Fixing contractual defects does not use up any of your revision allowance.
7. Change of mind and design preferences
Pixalit's free preview process lets you evaluate the proposed design direction before you buy anything. Once you have approved the direction and commissioned the paid project, later changes of personal preference are handled through your included revision allowance and any additional revisions individually agreed with you.
A change in personal preference does not, on its own, mean the agreed service was defective. This does not override your statutory rights or anything promised to you during the sales process.
8. Consumer cancellation rights
Consumers and business customers have different rights. You are a consumer if you are an individual buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession. Limited companies, and sole traders buying for their business, are business customers.
8.1 Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and your contract is covered by the UK rules on distance and off-premises contracts (for example, because it was agreed by phone, email or online), you have the right to cancel a service contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period generally begins on the day the service contract is entered into and ends 14 days later.
8.2 If work begins during the cancellation period
If you expressly request that Pixalit starts work during the cancellation period, Pixalit will follow the applicable legal requirements for that request. Where the law permits, if you then cancel, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the services already supplied up to the time you told us you were cancelling.
Where the service has been fully performed and the legally required request and acknowledgement were obtained, your statutory right to cancel may end.
A personalised website design does not, by itself, remove the statutory cooling-off period. A payment, a generic checkbox or a verbal conversation does not, by itself, waive your consumer rights.
8.3 How to cancel
To cancel, contact Pixalit at brandon@pixalit.co.uk with a clear statement of your decision to cancel. No particular wording is required, and you do not have to give a reason. You may use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to. To meet the cancellation deadline, you only need to send your message before the cancellation period has expired.
8.4 Effects of cancellation
If you cancel within the cancellation period, Pixalit will reimburse the payments received from you, less any proportionate amount payable for services already supplied at your express request. The reimbursement will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day Pixalit is informed of your decision to cancel, using the same means of payment you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not be charged any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
8.5 Customers outside the United Kingdom
Any mandatory consumer rights that apply under the law of another jurisdiction will be respected.
8.6 Model cancellation form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel the contract.

9. Intellectual property following cancellation or refund
Unpaid previews and Pixalit's protected original work remain subject to our Terms & Conditions. Your licence to use the completed website is granted only once full payment and handover have taken place. If a project is cancelled before then, you must not use, publish, reproduce or commercially exploit Pixalit's protected work without permission.
No copyright assignment takes place automatically on payment; ownership of bespoke intellectual property passes only where a separate, appropriately signed written assignment has been agreed. A cancellation or refund does not automatically reverse a licence or assignment that has already validly taken effect, or remove any rights that cannot lawfully be terminated. The consequences depend on the agreed contract, the nature of the rights and applicable law.
You always keep your own branding, photographs, text, logos and other materials. Unauthorised copying or misuse of Pixalit's protected work may be addressed through the applicable contractual or intellectual property remedies.
10. Pixalit Managed subscription cancellation
Pixalit Managed is optional. It costs £49 per month and includes an introductory 30-day free trial where offered.
There is no minimum subscription term and no cancellation fee. You can request cancellation at any time by emailing brandon@pixalit.co.uk.
- During the free trial: you can cancel to avoid the first paid renewal, provided the cancellation is completed before the first charge.
- Paid subscriptions: cancellation prevents future renewals, and the current paid service period ordinarily continues until its scheduled end.
Any legally required refunds, remedies or consumer cancellation rights (including those in section 8 for consumers) are unaffected, as is the handling of billing errors or failures to provide the agreed services.
Cancelling Pixalit Managed does not cancel or refund your original website purchase. It also does not automatically transfer hosting, domains or third-party accounts; those arrangements depend on the services and ownership arrangements individually agreed with you.
11. How to request a cancellation or refund
Email brandon@pixalit.co.uk. To help us deal with your request quickly, please include:
- your name or business name;
- the relevant project or subscription;
- your reason for requesting a cancellation or refund; and
- any supporting details, where relevant.
If you are exercising a statutory right to cancel that does not require a reason, you do not have to explain why. A clear statement that you wish to cancel is enough.
Pixalit will review your request and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Where a refund is due, it will be processed using an appropriate lawful payment method and within any timeframe the law requires.
12. Fair treatment and legal rights
Pixalit aims to handle cancellation and refund requests fairly and transparently. Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
